Had a friend that bought a 1970 Mercury Cougar up in Seattle Wa. And had it
shipped to North Carolina on a closed in truck and it cost him $1200. This
was back 8 years ago. So prices might be higher now with the cost of fuel up
so high.

Thinking about it, has anyone had experience with the financial
feasibility of having a car hauled across the country on a car carrier
truck? (Not that I'm looking at another project or anything....) It's
a big country sometimes. Particularly when you're interested in a car
you've never seen and you just don't know whether it will make it across
the desert southwest under its own steam. Towing can be expensive in
and of itself. How about getting it put on a truck with 8 others?
Especially useful information if Loren is going to keep tempting us all
with those Diesel ads from Washington state :) To literally haul a car
across America, I've seen prices about $1,000. Seems kind of high, but
again, it is a big country.
