    Thanks, guys.
Naturally, within minutes of hitting the send button, the phone
rang. We only got about 2", but with high winds, there was some
drifting and we were out late.
The DT466 is a four-stroke. Some of our busses have Detroit
2-strokes, but Mass Transit is a separate operation.
The pump is a Bosch VE variant of some sort. I may be able to
persuade administration to allow swapping the suspect injector with an
eye to replacing it if it proves bad. Valve lash adjustment would
probably require a visit from the dealer's mechanic, so I'd have to
look at persuading admin to having it done to several trucks as
preventive maintenance.
(General maintenance is changing oil & filter twice a year, generally
as part of getting it ready for state inspection.)
Odd thing is that even when hitting drifts last night, it just
squatted down, grunted and went. Miss didn't seem to be magnified or
more consistent. That seems odd because at higher rpm, the exhaust
note is conspicuous. Hmm....
I'm not sure that compression is an issue as it's the only one in
the fleet that can be left outside unplugged and still start reliably.
Oil consumption is low enough that when the level starts dropping,
it's close to change time. OTOH, the bulk oil we use is low bid....
Just for laughs I suggested using Rotella synthetic and just got an
icy glare.
Thanks again. If there's any follow-up, I'll post.
I do hope that everyone east of here is faring well. We were at
the southern end of the storm.
    Scott
