    Might actually be worth looking into, if TDI production is taking
a hiatus.  A few people around here have been doing just that with
Harley's for several years.  They put down a deposit to lock down a
bike at a specified price, and then go to work selling the contract at
a profit by the time it's delivered.
    Buddy of mine worked out a similar speculative instrument with
some of the Friendly Girls downtown when one of them informed him that
there were weather-related fluctuations in demand for the commodity
they supply....
