[Vwdiesel] Heater box woes, 86 Golf

Who in blue blazes had the bright idea of installing these ornery spring
clips up in behind and on top of heater boxes where only someone with
fingers like
the likes of Freddy Kruger could reach them?

Perhaps I am somewhat overly miffed as my other 2 daily drivers are in
various states of disrepair, so working on the Golf "for fun" is not so much
"fun" anymore.
LOL

Anyways, heater box is STILL not out.....I fought with the lower bolt inside
the engine compartment...the one that sticks out thru the firewall, for
about 2 hours or more last night.  The nut was seized onto the bolt, so the
whole thing was tuning
.(I even went so far as to put mu boxed-end 10mm wrench onto the nut, then
clamped a vice grip onto the tip of the bolt, but it's seized as tight as a
....well, you know)

  In the end I found the biggest crow bar and the biggest hammer I could
find and broke the things into bits...ripping the firewall with it.  So much
for a nice leak proof firewall.  Not sure how it's gonna hold firmly with
only a top bolt holding the thing all back together when (or if) I reinstall
it. LOL!..sigh.....

I did put a 1AWG wire from the starter to the battery though........still
need to install 1 GP, once I buy one.

Venting over........ahhh, I feel much better now......must get back to my
real job.
