I years ago thought I might could make a few sales of a CD with all 
manner of engine sounds.  I'm sure it's been done by now, but probably 
not to my satisfaction.  Things like a 2-Cyl John Deere pulling a load, 
an old hit-and-miss one lung pump engine, a P&W R-985 with a 
constant-speed prop grazing the flightline at full throttle, etc.  I 
also really used to like to listen to our old MB 190D.  I used to sit 
out in the garage and study to the sound of the engine.  I might have 
done better in those classes, though, if I'd opened the garage door.
