Thanks Chuck, I was under the impression that
"winterized fuel" ment that they cut more of the
sulfar additives out that causes polution or
something, not that an additive has been added to
prevent the fuel from geling. I could be wrong.
This is for my TDI PD "BEW" motor, not 1.6na, but I
know what you are saying about pump lube in fuel, the
Marvel Mystery Oil does that best, but not cheap.
This all started on Sat. when the car would not start.
I thought is was frozen fuel, possibly.
The Jetta TDI wagon just got back from the dealer
where they had to burn (download) a whole new engine
managment program into the car to get it to start and
add a ground wire to the computer harness in the
engine compartment.
Service Bulletin C 97-04-05, no start when wet or hard
start, extended cranking.
The car did not show signs of needed this, no codes
were generated, it just would not start.
Anyway, it runs fine now? Dam computers.
