[Vwdiesel] miser's Quantum warm up

Maybe I've misrepresented my 'Q'...
If I start it up say at 30F and I drive off at say 30mph
then the scraped frozen screen starts to melt from about 300
yards down the road. [This is much faster than my previous
gasser 'Q's. By the time I get to drop my son off at school
about 1.5 miles away the car is almost entirely defrosted.
If I dont go over 40mph then the gauge shows NW. If I then
idle the needle wont rise. If I've pushed it, then the
gauge will be higher nearly pointing north. I'dling wont
lower this temp much if any and it doesnt get hotter either.
[only going up hills raises it to NNE] Heat to footwell is
comfortable from quite early on.
All this doesn't prove anything scientifically; so incase
I'm talking out of my hat (wouldnt be the first time :o)
I'll do some more research...
Miser
Our TDI will cool right back down from 190F to < 100F if you
let it sit and idle. Why is yours different? Do you have a
throttle blade on your intake? Or is it running at a fast
idle?
