VW: Hazard Light Switch Relay Faulty
A faulty switch has prompted Volkswagen to recall about 68,000 Jettas, Golfs and GTIs from the 2000-2002 model years.

The switch can be degraded as a result of substantially increased current load from the 27w turn signal bulbs used in the cars instead of the 21w bulbs used in other Volkswagens. The default could leave the cars without hazard and signal lights. Dealers will replace the hazard switch relay.
VW: Flaw could cause diesel fuel leak
Volkswagen is also recalling a number of newer diesel-powered Jettas, Golfs, Beetles and Passats to fix a flaw that could lead to a fuel leak and possible fire. The cars are from the 2004-2005 model years. Transport Canada says in rare cases, fasteners on high-pressure diesel pumps in the cars can fail and allow a large amount of fuel to spill. This can also pose a crash hazard for vehicles travelling behind the leaking car [theme music from Goldfinger comes to mind... didn't know Aston Martin DB5's were diesel... g]

Dealers will install a replacement diesel pump kit.
