Loren~  Thanks for the input.  I'll check the starter again but I just
had it off (PO had goofed up replacing the starter and didn't
incorporate the motor mount).  Is there anything that comes to mind
under the dash?  That's where I was last working.  I have no clue on the
cruise.  It was disconnected before I got the car (hoses and wires cut
under the hood).  The module was jammed up under the dash.  All the
components appear to be there less some wire and hose.  If you want it,
I'll send it to you- just reimburse me for postage.

  First place I'd look is the spade connector on the starter itself.
The do 
fall 
off occasionally and I've knocked them off when I didn't think I could
have.
  Is the cruise control dead or just unwanted and now an orphan?
