the idea has come up several times
I drive a n/a diesel EV I imported from Canada
(doesn't need the turbo, in my opinion)
but as I know from intimate experience, it is a fairly accessible 
engine too work on and I would think swapping an engine that HAS been 
mated to it in other markets WOULD be (relatively) straightforward
(i.e. easier than swapping a jet turbine in there)
