Being a "Hillbilly Tuning" wizard ---and knowing the incredible rebuilding job that
Gavrik did on that engine ? ----It is a matter of personal pride to help him get that
Rabbit performing much like Bunny Bondo --I shall have slowbird verify that Bunny Bondo
does exactly what I say she does. 78 miles on a gallon Imp and next to no soot loading
in lube oil. ---That proves the performance of Hillbilly Tuning .
She is a 1984 1.6L turbo diesel Rabbit. ---operated in ECO mode -- 259830.3 Km on clock.
Oil so clean it is hard to see on dipstick.
Gavrik remember we are dealing with two different issues that may or may not be
connected -High oil consumption and Low Smileage. Gavrik --DO the blotter test at
least till we get her really performing.
And by the way slowbirds used to work as a gasser mechanic , so he is a reliable witness.
I deal mainly with VW 1.5-1.6 L NA and turbo 1977 to 1784. . so quote me right.
This is mainly about Gavriks diesel ---more on Bunny Bondo some other time.
I just noticed that the design of the oilfilters I use have been redesigned ---FRAM
PH3569.
Now they are sold by Honeywell not AlliedSignal.--I get mine from Wal-Mart. They do look
like they were IMPROVED.
Hagar.
PS : Remember --keep your Rabbits head COOL. ---do not trust the VW gauge.Do a Roger
Brown test on the system. At least a Loren test.
