Loren how ? do you filter your Ciders ?.


  Certainly not with asbestos!  ;-)
  Tree top uses a diatomacious earth filter pack.  They have three different
"grits" of it for clearer filtration.  Dad found something years ago where 
simply stirring some into the cider does a pretty fair job of filtering it as 

it falls through and settles to the bottom.  Someone in the family was 
complaining that it changed the taste so last time we simply let it 
settle on its own.  Doesn't get as clear and of course homemade isn't 
anything like the (american) beer look that most cider has.  Probably 
was my daughter that complained since she seems to have more 
sensitive senses than even I do.  I never felt it altered the flavor though.
