Interesting question. Well, I was utterly crushed I tell you, but it wasn't
anything like the classic Mr. Bill being crushed.   I workjed so hard on
that breath easy dual exhaust system too!  This idea that Hagar put in my
head about being able to achieve 78 MPIG from a small car with a turbo
assisted Volkswagen 4 cylinder engine has really got me reved up as it were.

I'm getting the idea more in focus that such a feat is HARD to do.  Let us
consider the following however.  First.  Hagar admits being a frequent
bullshitter and seems to enjoy pulling people's legs.  Just the other day
while reminding us of this incredible smileage number of 78 he dropped a
hint that it is in "eco" mode.  Since he has also claimed that his engine
oil remains a golden clear color I wonder,  could "eco" mean Engine-Cut-Off?
;)  If I pull my Jetta around with a rope from a powered vehicle the fuel
consumption numbers of the Jetta will improve.  If I do it for every mile
moved the oil will stay clean also.

I'm not suggesting that Hagar is lying to us, but just that as they say on
the X-Files, "the truth IS out there".  ;)  Hagar is a clever dude.  He
makes people who take the time to pay attention, think.

BTW, this past weekend I just conceived of the workings of a gravity powered
reciprocating engine that I'm itching to prototype in the machine shop.
Found the low loss miniature bearings for the flywheel in my assortment of
treasure today and I have enough neodemium magnets to get started and create
one of the poles which might be enough to prove the concept in a small
tabletop model..  THIS is NOT bull!  The only critical component now needed
is a round-toit. ;)

usage 5 litres/100 km.  That works out to about 57 MPIG.  It seems that I
still have work to do to achieve my goal of breaking 60 MPIG.

Buy my Quantum which does 60MPIG and throw away the body and stick the
engine into your Jetta and you'll be sure to challenge Hagar...
