Vwdiesel Digest, Vol 20, Issue 4With gear oil, higher number doesn't always mean newer or better.  In fact GL-6 is obsolete.

Hagar asks ?   what does it mean  that GL-6 is obsolete ?.

ExxonMobil    Esso Gear Oil      GX     Extra   GL-6     is NOT obsolete as off    03 June 2005 .
comes in 75 W 90   and   80 W 140      grades.

I Hagar   the Old    battle -----well combattat   --alias Terrorist      like  Mil- Spec.     stuff.
Where GL-4  Esso GX   is specified  ?----use GL-5.
