Chuck,
What are you running for fuel additive? The 1.5 that was in my 79 would
do this when I used PowerService fuel additive. It would take a couple
of tanks of fuel before it started not idleing down. Reminded me the
old idle hold open feature on some of the first "smog" cars. I found
that mine liked either ATF or when I could get it Howes fuel additive.
I have always wondered if there was some sort of governing feature that
wasn't being properly lubed with PowerService in the tank. Now the '94
'burb with the 6.5 TD likes the PowerService as an additive.
