[Vwdiesel] Golf fuse block

Does anyone have a Golf or anything else where the 50A fuse is mounted 
under the dash? I have one with stripped screw holes. One screw seems to 
vibrate loose making a poor electrical connection at the fuse and after 
a few arcs POOF!, no fuse anymore!

I  would like to know what a PITA the 50A fuse block is to replace. The 
50A fuse block looks like it slides into the main fuse block from the 
rear (toward the top of the dash). How hard are the wires to extract 
from the back of the fuse block? Can the 50 A block be swapped out w/o 
removing the main fuse block. The Bentley is totally worthless for this job.
