Sandy,

I have been thinking of reducing weight in my *new* '91 Jetta 1.6 TD. For
example, I don't need a rear seat as much as I do cargo room. Unfortunately
(for the weight budget method of improving fuel economy) I will be adding a
substantial trailer hitch, second fuel tank system (for WVO) and other
stu-uff which will bring the weight back up.

What are you now getting for smileage? Can you estimate how many pounds of
weight you successfully shed from the car?

Rob
