We swapped out the instrument cluster with another one in order to fix the
odometer. Unfortunatelt the "new" speedometer registers 40 mph at 3500 rpm's in
second when the actual speed is 26. After swapping out the cluster and
changing the oil is when the buzzer started doing its thing. It may have been
caused by the cluster wiring. It seems to have stopped its buzzing without any
cause correction of a problem. It could also be a sticking sensor? I need to
look at the Bentley specs for the pressures that the buzzer should go off. The
OP is kinda low IMO but may not be causing the system to go off. It may be
the wiring in the "new" cluster.

I was thinking that it would be a good idea if the pump has the smaller gears
to swap to the larger ones. That would seem to postpone any low oil problems
for longer than my friend will probably run the car. Are the pickup tubes
for jetta and quantum the same? Are the shafts of the earlier TD pumps the same
as the shafts of the later ones? I would like to make sure I get a pump that
will work. I would also like to change the oil pressure control valve at the
same time if possible.
