[Vwdiesel] '84 TD oil pressure

I recommended that he 
switch to the 15w-50.  I was wondering if anyone could confirm the gear size 
of 
the oil pump for that year.  Also was wondering what was involved in removing 

the pan from the engine in the quantum, as there is an additional crossmember 
to 
contend with.  Any other thoughts?


  Should be like a Dasher...  Four large bolts and the subframe drops down 
enough to clearance the pan.  Engine has to be supported and the 
motor mounts unmounted too.  Factory pump would be a 30mm but 
a 36mm would work well too.  
  With the buzzer acting odd like that he may want to be sure the wires 
are connected properly and not possibly to one of the temp sensors 
for the gauge or GP system.  Troubleshoot the two senders and 
find out which one is the problem if it's wired up properly.  One 
is NO and the other is NC with no pressure, as I recall.
