If I remember correctly,
The Bentley says 28psi at 2000rpm.
There is a pressure sensor in the head and on the oil filter assy.
The head sensor is set for (I believe) 5 or 6 psi, and the filter sensor
is set for a higher pressure(20psi?, I don't exactly remember)
>From idle to 2000rpm, the lower pressure sensor is in the loop, then at
2000rpm, the higher pressure unit takes over.
That said, 30w oil is too thin for an older IDI during the summer. The
engine itself is probably in decent shape. It's the intermediate shaft
bearings that are prone to early demise. Thicker oil and a bigger pump
will give you many more miles, but eventually the int-shaft bearings
will need to dealt with.
