[Vwdiesel] TDI: Added larger injectors, reprogramming computer really necessary?

Hey all-

I added the larger injector nozzles from Kerma TDI
(the ones that replace the nozzles from the 110hp
european cars) to my dad's car.

Kerma's site doesn't say anything about reprogramming
the ECU, but the link to another how-to site in their
how-to page does mention this.
<http://pics2.tdiclub.com/pdf/injector_install_howto.pdf>

(Towards the bottom of the page.)

I've driven the car a few miles without changing the
computer's values, and all seems fine so far, but I'm
wondering about possible long-term consequences of
driving it like this. It does seem to have more
power! :-)

My problem is that the guy who told me he would bring
his VAG-COM equipped computer over keeps telling me
he'll come "later"... I'm beginning to think it might
not happen.

Dad wants his car back, and I'd like to turn it back
over to him, but I don't want something to be hurt by
driving it without adjusting the fueling values. I'm
thinking of buying a copy of VAG-COM, but that'll at
least take several days to arrive.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

David
