  Subject: Int. GP's...the solution (?)

As suggested, I pulled the wire off the sensor and the GP's worked !
(longer than usual, however, that didn't matter.....it got me home)

The temp guage one was cruddy/corroded/(galvanic action?) and the wire on
the GP sensor one had broken off completely y'day.

I cleaned off the temp one while the car was still warm (last night in the
dark) after a short 200kms roadtrip and the sensor came up about 1/8th
scale...car had been off 10 mins or so....I'll assume this one
works.....temp guage only gets to about 1/2 scale after I've been on the
road a while, so this seems about normal.

Today, @ -5*C outside and sunny.......car plugged in all night......I
measure aprox 153Ohms on Each sensor.
Today, I replaced the connector on the GP sensor and the yellow light came
on for 10 seconds, then the relay clicked off in another 7-10
seconds........car fired up with a touch of the key.

wow....Rotten connections.........AGAIN! You'd think we were dealing with
the Lucas wiring on my Austin Mini, ha ha

I had made up a little Mini jumper lead, ready to tackle "manual GP
firing" for a few days.
Even went so far as to partially build a 40A manually activated relay cct
to install on Sunday if
I couldn't diagnose & fix the problem by Monday morning.

Interesting as it seems both sensor wires are Blue with a Yellow
trace........as far as I can see. They're pretty old and cruddy, having not
been cleaned in almost 20 years I'm sure.

More investigation needed, but for now, I'm mobile once again !
