Be aware that using these alternative substances puts you on your own for 
commercial service to your system.

Commercial shops test your system to be sure it isn't contaminated with 
things like AutoFrost, etc. If they find it, they ask you to leave. It 
contaminates their draw-down equipment.

As a result, if your system contains anything except R-134a or R-12, you 
will be treated as an unwelcome customer. Getting anything except the 
specified substances into their draw-down machines would disable the 
machines until they had been "sterilized." The machine would be down for 
the day. Nobody can afford that kind of extra downtime.

The above information is paraphrased from conversations with the owner of a 
commercial air conditioner shop that specializes in automobile systems.
