[Vwdiesel] Injector mix-up

Back to my injector paradox;
If the benefits of higher pressure are lost in increased
torque required to produce it
(some arguments are backing this  but I'm still undecided!)
then wouldn't there be a benefit to going the other way say
operating a TD down in the130 bar region?
Maybe smoother quieter running due to the longer burn time
Retardation could be adjusted out?
Finally less energy to squirt so better fuel economy?
