[Vwdiesel] glow plug test

Just wanted to see if I was doing this correctly. I have a 10 amp battery
charger, I hooked the neg up to the body of the glow plug and the pos up to
the terminal end. When I turned on the charger nothing happened, this was
with all 4 glow plugs. From what I can tell they were good because the car
started right up before I took the head off. Is there something I'm not
doing right?
