Rolf,
Sounds fascinating. Are you aware that Fleet makes a 2 micron large
spin-on filter for Caterpillar? I tracked it down looking for a filter
for my 1.5L diesel Rabit engine in genset project operating on WTF/WMO.
I can post the part # if anyone wants it. Not handy at the moment
sorry. It is a generous sized filter about 4" diameter by 6.5"-7" long
to capture plenty-o-crud before needing replacement and very affordable
at around $10 ea.
I read that you used copper refrigeration type tubing inside 3/4" rubber
heater hose. That will work extremely well until, (and it hopefully
won't
happen) the copper work hardens from flexing/vibration and cracks making
a leak. Copper tubing is never employed in motor vehicles for this
reason.
Rob

Sandy
this is a dual tank system - I am on 100% veggie 95% of the time I will
be posting details when I can get to it, but it is a 17 gal aluminum
tank in the back of the van (currently unheated, but today it gets
insulation & copper coil *under* the tank); from the tank I go HIH (hose
in a hose - 3/8"
copper in 3/4" rubber) running @ 14' under vehicle to twin filters in
the engine bay; primary filter is Fleetguard FH23000 (BIG filter meant
for
18-wheelers) w/ cast aluminum coolant heat exchanger built-in @ 25
micron; secondary filter is Racor 500FG (as of yet unheated, but it has
a port for a 12v heater that I will put something in for winter/earlier
switchover boost
heating) - the Racor is 2 micron; then into the Pollak 6-port switching
valve; then into the IP and the engine vegoil gets *HOT*; switchover is
almost unnoticeable - just a slight 'relaxation' of the IP - seems to
run slightly smoother and quieter, a little 'lower down' - and of course
the smell from the tailpipe improves I will post pics and answer
questions when I can Rolf
