Extremely uncommon. Usual places are the valve cover gasket, oil
pressure sending unit, even occasionally the head gasket by the front
of #3 cylinder. I've kinked, smooshed pulled on and never damaged
one of the return lines. Thought I'd crushed one once but once all
the dirt was out of the ss braid, it sprang right back into shape. Turbo
can drip oil too, from blowby oil collecting in the housing and wastegate
hose/s.

I always either use a 1 1/16 wrench or a 14" crescent. You could use
large channel locks, vise-grips (CAREFULLY) pipe wrench, etc. Problem
might be getting at the 10mm, 12 pt. bolts up top with the turbo in place.

Pressure test. I'd get the car up enough to see under it and clean it
with either a car wash wand (before bringing it home and putting it on
ramps or blocks) or spray can of carb cleaner, brake cleaner, etc, then
let it run and trace the leak.

Hunt up a used one, have something made up from the ends of
the old one or grab your wallet and try the dealer.
BTW I could use an oil supply line if anybody has an extra one they
want to sell. Had to use the one I had set aside for the Rabbit, on the
Jetta last year. Eventually it'll be a custom line with an oil cooler in
it but with time like it is, IF I get around to putting it on, I'll want to
do it as quickly as possible THEN modify later.
