Would an old washing machine or dishwasher pump work?


  Probably not.  Low pressure and high volume.  If you filter first and 
want to make a link to a motor, old (or NOS) furnace burner pumps 
are great little pumps!  I have/had an extra from a local place that 
insisted I take 2 for 1 price!  They had a bunch and NO demand. 
Something like $5 or $10.  One fixed my sisters furnace and the 
other at least WAS somewhere in Dad's garage.
  Maybe a pressure operated, reversing piston or diaphragm pump 
like pop fountain heads use.  Good for metering too.  More dumpster 
diving.  :-)
