[Vwdiesel] More problems

Ok, here is the deal, I got the engine all back together, slowly step by
step, set the timing up just like it is suppose to be. Now this 91Jetta 1.6L
TD is giving me more problems. It wouldn't start and then fired off and
stopped, then cranked over and then it stopped and then my starter just
spins over. So I got out and checked the timing, well in the process of
turning the engine over by hand it got to a point and then stopped, it will
not move.  So if the timing did jump, "again", why I don't know I was very
careful to clean check and torque everything, how do I get it back in time
without taking the head off? Do I need to take the cam out and rotate the
engine back to TDC and then reset the cam back in at TDC? I really could use
some help, these past three weeks have really taken a toll on me. Can I call
anyone?
