I have a piece of iron gaspipe that I hammered round an old
inch and a bit nut.using a 56lb scales weight as an anvil.
the sloppyness round the nut equates to a firm fit @27mm.
pipe about 6" for convenience. good ole pair of pipefitters
Stilsons do the job. Only issue on a TD is the aneroid on
the pump; but rotating pump and sprocket alleviates this.
Even got the approval from Jake on this one ;o)

I thought of another mid-torque hack...a plumbers sink
wrench. It
might maul up the injector, but it may help... May being
the key word
of uncertainty.
