I'll try to remember.  When someone does not sign their post I try to
observe that it is safest to address the reply to the identified sender IMO.

What you said below makes sense and is what I had thought.  You explained it
more clearly.

Lowest brake specific fuel consumption coincides with peak torque.  Your
engine will always get the best economy when fully loaded at peak torque
rpm.
You can lower your consumption by not using all the available torque at any
given rpm, but if you need the full available torque, running at peak torque
rpm will keep your costs and consumption lowest.
