Don't know much about sugar except as an errant school boy
it sure blended well with Sodium Chlorate ;o)

It partially burns, carbonizes on everything, valves burn and warp up as
they get no seat time, rings stuck fast... Just imagine pouring syrup on
everything then carmelizing it a little too much. Messy, and destructive.
Happened to Dad's tractor years ago on a fresh rebuild. scored cylinder
walls, ate up valves, just trashed it. Remember, on an old case gas tractor,
there was little in the way of fuel filtration. Jet sizes were about 1.5
garden hose diameters. You could damn near get gravel through the jets, so
particulate sugar could go from tank to motor. I saw the results with my
own two lookers. Urban legend my ass.
Other sugar mixers on this side of the pond is potassium chlorate. Much
more energetic, and sodium chlorate is too hydrophyllic. ;-)
