[Vwdiesel] where is temp gauge sensor supposed to go ?

I would recommend replacing the thermostat. You could be overheating
something and not be aware by the temp gauge. It should not be a
problem to find the sending unit. Change the thermostat, replace coolant
for a cold winter, warm it up- check for leaks. Pull the wire off of
sending units until the temp gauge responds- then you have it!

Well, first thing, that sloppy steering ? That tie rod ends. The
clunk-bang, maybe CV joints ??
