[Vwdiesel] Coolant Stuff

My beloved UN-opinionated Diesel Gearheads,

        While winterizing (Old Paint) '86 Golf Diesel,
I began wondering.  Doiiiyyyyyyyyy???
How much fluid does the standard VW 1.6L diesel hold?
Auto parts shops offer/sell antifreeze in 50/50% premix jugs.
The price of 50/50 jugs is more than half of 100% antifreeze jugs.
Thus, not as cost effective. (there are unmentioned advantages)
     First frost was last night, I had dumped 3/4 US gal of 50/50
just to be on the safe side of frost/freeze point.
I save old coolant for emergency and maint top offs.
Will check freeze point once I find that hydrometer looking thingiee. 
I like to think/recall fluid measurement was in volume,
so, what is the official '86 1.6L coolant volume?
I seek coolant volume in US gallons.
