[Vwdiesel] New clutch slipping like mad

I just installed a new clutch in the diesel cabby, and
took it for a test drive.

Now, it is slipping 10 times worse than before I
started!  (And I removed an oil-soaked disk, etc!)

I cannot for the life of me think of what could be
causing this.  I adjusted the cable way on the loose
end of things, to make sure that it couldn't be a
problem.

Ideas?
