I have heard the transistor that operates the dome light when the door is
open (and delays it going out when the door is closed) can get leaky, thgere
is also an electrolytic condenser associated with the circuit that can get
electrically leaky. All of this is attached to the dome light circuit. If
the delay feature is not precious to you, you can get rid of it and connect
the door wire directly. Still turns the light on when the door is open,
turns it off as soon as door closes.
With the door closed, and the switch in the automatic position, check for
leakage at the battery.
The trunk light switch can also turbn on the trunk light if the plastic
liner on the lower edge of the opening is dammaged. Mine is long gone, I
just latch the trunk light switch in the off position... Occasionally it
will pop out and turn the light on.
Since I use the car daily, I usually catch it before the battery goes dead,
Sandy
