Thanks for suggestions and links to the adjustable regulators.

I'm putting in a 90 Amp alternator to replace the 60 Amp into my camper pickup. Found one at my local VW dismantler. The case and mounts appear to be similar but will require swapping pulleys.

Since I use a battery isolator for the batteries there is about a 0.7 volt drop thru the system, being that diodes are used. Thus it is desirable to increase alternator regulation, especially at idle. I have a Dodge camper van and tried using a switched continuous type solenoid relay for awhile. Eventually the sealed relay contacts either carboned up or pitted, reducing output, so I went back to using isolators. Don't know if that particular solenoid relay was just a bad one but it did work for a year or so. Found the 28mm ring adjustable regulators that fit my 90 amp alternator are available as Transpo# IB373A. Will check a local distributor for availability. The parts dismantler said he usually stocks some. Milt.
