[Vwdiesel] clutch issues

LOL, yes I had a cable break a ways from home, lost it
as I came to a construction stoplight on a two-lane
highway late at night.
Luckily it was late, so I was able to run a couple
stop signs safely (slowly).
My strategy at stoplights was to turn the car off, put
it in first, and start it that way. Easy to do when
the engine is hot.
Learning skills like that (clutch-less driving) is
handy for when you need them in the future. Also good
when you happen to be driving an old school bus with
really "heavy" clutch pedal.
