The rust hurts the value Doyt but the utility and economy help a great
deal. You are in Ohio where all the older cars are rusty so no big deal
really. I know that a nice Rabbit D rust-free is worth $2500 US- or
more. So, yours is gotta be worth $1200 to $1500.

Thanks for the opinion, Hagar. But he wants it now, not in January. I
figured that I should turn this little marvel loose to live usefully in
some other household. I have more cars than I can ever use and maintain.
For fuel economy and fun driving, the 85 Jetta TD is the jewel of the
lot,
although the Rabbit is surprisingly close. What a fun little car. I'll
put my resources into making the Jetta very reliable and safe.
