[Vwdiesel] air filter clips

I can get the top two clips to latch but I can't get the 
bottom two, and the one on the passenger side is very hard to get my 
hand to. Do I need to remove the fuel filter for easier access? Or come 
at them from under the car?



  Generally you can use something flat to pry it up with.  Often I'm able to
reach one hand in from the side and then the other in from the front and 
pushing with both, get it to snap.  Remove the snorkel for more room, and 
get the breather hose out of the way if necessary.
