Good post!

Man, I am soooo glad I scooped that 91 Jetta TD last spring when I had a
unique opportunity! I had never owned and driven a diesel car in my life
before this but was becoming increasingly aware of their practical value. It
was just supposed to be for the rebuilt engine to use in a genset because
the car had a lien against it but after several other parties declined
interest for this reason I persevered and managed to get the bank to release
the lien. At that point I had a complete car that made every sense to fix
and put on the road.  All legal and my price was a steal. It needed major
suspension (bushings) and brake work but that didn't cost that much with me
in DIY mode.  I love getting more than 50 MPIG and now do a lot more driving
to go look at the world around me (actually treasure hunts) than I have done
in some years.  I drive around looking for parts to make my diesel
generators and wind turbine. ;)

Energy shortage?  Impossible!  In most of the developed world, the only
exception being England, electrons lterally swarm out of the ground.
