Yes, if shifting gears, and wanting to resume cruise control operation at the same speed, it does require hitting Set again in
the new gear if you want the same speed again if using RPM. Only reason I used the RPM signal was because I had it there for
the tach, did not have to run any new wires through the firewall, did not have to tear apart the dash or glue any magments to
the CV axle or install pickup sensor. But yes, there are a myriad of options for getting a cruise control onto a VW diesel, I
picked one and am happy with the results. I've also used other techniques on other vehicles and they have worked fine as well.
