First thing to do is  to check for leaks in the vac. line/lines Then start
engine and take off oil filler cap. Take a sheet of paper and allow it to
flap over oil hole. This will give a clearer picture of excessive blowby.
Increase revs and see if venting drops away.If it does then blowby is not
excessive (or at least no worse than mine and my brakes work fine :^).
Using paper rather than hand gives a clearer picture and stops confusion of
natural pulses of sump pressure with rings that operate with little blowby
under working conditions...
Then open up Vac generator thingy (name has left my bonce for the mo.!) to
see what you have...
