[Vwdiesel] boost

Well I was able to do a little running today. Normally I'm running as easy
as possible so I can get the best mileage but today I was in a hurry. I
noticed that when I'm running 70mph my boost is at 5psi, at 80mph it goes up
to 12psi and it stays there when I'm running 90mph, of course that is my max
boost. I have not adjusted any higher yet. The K14 on my 91 jetta TD ECO
turned true TD with a rebuilt pump and spaceship added runs great. I also
noticed that it seems to run better when I'm running it harder as well and
not babying it to get the best mileage. Are those boost pressures correct?
I don't have an EGT gage, (kicking myself in the butt that I didn't do it
when I had the exhaust manifold off) :-(.

 

It sure was fun running from everyone at the stop lights. I also noticed
that the more I ran it that way the less smoke over time at the higher
throttle settings and running up of the gears. 

 

Oh my wife also is interested in the Jeep Liberty and get this she wants a
diesel now that I'm going to start and try to make biodiesel.  Anyone hear
anything bad about the Liberty diesels?
