[Vwdiesel] Diesel Chrysler minivans

I know Chrysler offers a diesel option  in its minivans sold in Europe but not in our so called "free" country. I don't know if it is a Mercedes Benz or some other diesel. I have heard the diesel offered in the Jeep Liberty is made in Italy, don't recall its name but Consumers Reports in a road test reports it got poor mileage for a diesel. I would be interested in hearing from European members what the cost of a good diesel engine, drivetrain, & related components from a totaled minivan would cost.
