[Vwdiesel] '84 Quantum wiper linkage

This morning as I was pulling into my employer's parking lot, the wipers
on my '84 Quantum TD quit. I could still hear the wiper motor, so I
suspect the linkage came adrift. I don't have the Bentley handy, but I'd
like to get an idea of what I'm in for. How deeply is the wiper
mechanism buried? I hope I don't have to seriously tear the car apart to
get at it! (Praying for no rain later today!) TIA
