[Vwdiesel] Tires!

Hey all-

I see this discussed on every automotive forum I'm on
to no end, but not on the diesel forums.

Anyway, I'm going to be looking at getting some new
tires sometime in the near future.

I'm mainly interested in tire cost and fuel
efficiency.  I don't care if they are a little noisy
or don't ride as nice.  

I'm looking for recommendations on tires with good
rolling resistance (or lack thereof...), won't wear
away really quickly, and don't cost more than they
will save me!

Any suggestions?  Can you get higher PSI car tires?
