On a NA engine, it's pretty resonant. I know inside a jetta, it makes
it uncmfortable, it raps pretty loud.

With a turbo, there is whistle, but not a lot of putt putt noise.

Still better with a good muffler.

It got up to 17 MPG & 12 to 13 MPG towing a car trailer with a car on it. I wished I hadn't traded it in on my 30 foot Rockwood diesel pusher that only gets 10 MPG. The Isuzu just had a streight pipe on it, no muffler. I was told the turbo quieted it enough to be legal, but it was still noisey. Don't know what a streight pipe would do for a VW diesel but maybe some of you do.
