Is the propensity to cracking the block because the bolts bottom out? I
always chase the threads and clean and dry them out well. Thanks for the
insight.

Other than their propensity to cracking the block when the head bolts are
torqued down, there is nothing wrong with them. Make SURE that you fully
clean the headbolt holes and threads- REALLY clean them out and chase them
with a tap or old head bolt.

should know about before picking one up? I don't have any experience with
