[Vwdiesel] Still trying to resurrect 1980 vw rabbit diesel Current Status

Took the advice of Loren  and Hayde and dropped the fuse block. Interesting 
results:

8 aug 2006 status
Dropped fuse box down and discovered #30 and 'T' wires loose in
Glow Plug relay slots.
That explained why I found the fusible link burned out the other day and
why the tests failed  and/or were not consistent for the relay and warning 
light.
Pulled prong out on female end and re-inserted in slot. Both are locked 
again.
Put test light on #4 glow plug and set o ground;
placed key into #1 position,
Glow Plug light came on AND
Test light on #4 came on AND

Glow Plug Warning light turned off at a non-timed (but counting until 96).
Probably a couple of minutes.

Next step, get new return hose, install, bleed system AND
TRY, TRY AGAIN! to START.
Note: I am sure all reading this is aware that the "discovery" took much 
more
than a few minutes, and much, much longer than it took to write this. 8o}
